MATCHROOM SPORT ANNOUNCE NEW BROADCAST AGREEMENT WITH KWESÉ SPORTS

Matchroom Sport are delighted to announce a new long-term agreement with African TV network Kwesé Sports, who have obtained broadcast rights to the UK-based promotional company’s entire catalogue of events.

Matchroom Sport is the UK’s leading sports promoters and rights holders, producing over 700 hours of original programming per year across a range of sports including World championship boxing, PDC darts and major snooker, pool, fishing, tenpin bowling, ping pong and golf events.

Kwesé Sports is a fresh new African sports brand focussed on delivering superb news, information, live action and key highlights to fans across select sub-Saharan African countries.

Alongside Matchroom’s catalogue of major tournaments, Kwesé Sports will also showcase sports including soccer, athletics, basketball, mixed martial arts, rugby and cricket among others. Recent acquisitions for the growing brand include the exclusive rights to screen the Copa Del Rey and the Extreme Fighting Championships (EFC).

Currently available online at www.kwesesports.com, the brand is a key component of Kwesé TV, which will begin rolling out its services later this year, on both internet and satellite based platforms. Kwesé TV is wholly owned by Econet Media, a subsidiary company of Econet Global Group.

Kwesé Sport have obtained rights to broadcast to the sub-Saharan region Matchroom Sport’s full catalogue of programming, including;

• major PDC Darts events including the PDC World Darts Championship, Premier League Darts and World Series of Darts
• World championship boxing from Britain’s leading stable of boxing, which includes World Heavyweight title contender Anthony Joshua
• Three major world pool events per year, including the popular Europe vs. America Mosconi Cup match
• Champion of Champions snooker
• PGA EuroPro Tour golf
• Fish’O’Mania, the annual FA Cup of Fishing
• World Championship of Ping Pong
• Weber Cup tenpin bowling

Kwesé Sport will also have access to Matchroom Sport’s entire back catalogue of programming and archive specials.

The coverage of boxing will also include championship matches including the IBF World Heavyweight title match between Anthony Joshua and Dominic Breazeale scheduled for the 25th of June. Kwesé TV will live stream the fight on its website for free to 50 African countries.
