Europro Tour heads west to Fota Island - 13/06/2011
The PGA EuroPro Tour can announce that next month's Audi Cork Irish Masters, the sixth event on the Tour this year, will be held at Cork's beautiful Fota Island Golf Club.
The Audi Cork Irish Masters will be held from Wednesday, July 6 to Friday, July 8, in association with O'Leary Insurances, Ballyburden Meats and Beringer Wine, as Europe's top young golfers compete at one Ireland's leading resorts.
Fota Island's Belvelly Course will stage the three-day event, with players competing in two rounds before the top 50, plus ties, progress to compete for the £10,000 first prize in the decisive third day.
"There has been a great response from our players since Fota Island was announced as one of our venues on the 2011 PGA EuroPro Tour," said Danny Nickless, Operations Manager for the PGA EuroPro Tour.
"Fota's reputation as a former host venue for the Irish Open only enhances the reputation of what we believe is one of the finest courses to have staged the PGA EuroPro Tour, and I know that the Irish professionals on our Tour are looking forward to the event.

The PGA EuroPro Tour has been the launch pad for the careers of a host of stars on the European Tour stage, including 2010 Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen, European Ryder Cup star Ross Fisher, Lloyd Saltman and Daniel Gaunt.
